Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms govern your use of lawkitty. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. The service
lawkitty is an online research tool for Australian law, covering legislation, rulings, cases and related materials, together with tools that let you connect AI assistants to the same sources.
2. Accounts
You sign in using your email. You must provide accurate information, keep your account secure, and you are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Subscriptions
During beta, lawkitty is free. When we introduce paid plans, we will tell you in advance, and you will be able to choose whether to continue on a paid plan or a free one.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to bypass its limits, resell or redistribute it, or use it in a way that is unlawful or that harms the service or others.
5. Intellectual property
The content in lawkitty, including legislation, rulings and cases, belongs to its respective owners. The service itself, including its software, design and any summaries we create, belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited licence to use the service for your own research.
6. Not legal advice
lawkitty is an information and research tool, not legal advice. Using it does not create a lawyer client relationship. You should check the original sources and seek professional advice before acting.
7. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
